Dr. Rob Sheppard

Dr. Sheppard has a Doctorate of Ministry, and a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from outhwestern Baptist Theological Seminary of Fort Worth, Texas.

He has been a professor at Southwestern Adventist University for 13 years, where he was head of the Religion Department for six of those years. He taught both Psychology and Theology, and is presently Adjunct Professor. Rob has been pastor of six churches in Texas.

He, along with Ernie Pyle, conducts the Wednesday night prayer meeting and is a Sabbath School teacher in the Arlington Church.  He is the owner of University Counseling Center and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists.  He has been in private practice for over 25 years..

 
 

 

Pastor Ernie Pyle

Pastor Ernie Pyle holds a bachelor’s degree in theology from Southwestern Adventist University, where he specialized in church growth principles.  He demonstrated those principles successfully while serving as a church pastor in Oklahoma.

Over five years ago, Pyle began a Friday night Bible study group in his home that has developed into a Home Church.  Weekly attendees are treated to an in-depth study of different books of the Bible, always with the focus on God’s great love for mankind.  Pyle co-conducts the Wednesday night prayer meeting at the Arlington Adventist Church, and teaches an adult Bible study group on Saturday mornings.

Pyle has many years of experience as a motivational speaker, both in business and religious settings.  He has been the National Sales Trainer for three corporations, including a Fortune 500 company, and owns a marketing company in Arlington, Texas.

 

 
 

Dr. Roger Doss

 

Dr. Roger Doss holds a doctor of philosophy degree in child counseling from the University of North Texas State University, as well as, a masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education. He has been the  Executive Director of the Family Counseling Center in Fort Worth, Texas, the last seven years Prior to becoming Executive Director, he was the clinical director at the Family Counseling Center for twenty years.

As a counselor, Roger deals with adults, couples and children. He works with individuals who are struggling in relationships and those who’ve experienced trauma. He helps teens and their parents, as well as, younger children who are experiencing issues. In his doctoral studies, he studied with Play Therapy pioneer, Dr. Garry Landreth. In addition to his counseling, he teaches Bible, math, science and physical education in the Center school.

Roger is a Licensed Professional Counselor and, in addition, supervises counseling interns, is a certified teacher. Having worked with many clients who are dealing with the Child Protective Services arm of the Department of Health, he's experienced in helping families in crisis.
